Wrapped – 24h VR Hackathon

I participated in a 24h hackathon organized by my study course “Expanded Realities”. The task was to create a VR game based on our childhood games with an artistic approach. Our game is based on “Steal the flag” with optical illusions. The world is wrapped in a sphere which was inspired by the movie “Inception”. The goal is to teleport on different buildings and find five leaves to unwrap the world. Cause we didn’t want to implement a multiplayer system in a short time, we let objects fly around as enemies. I am also proud of the design which turned out very well with the Kitbash Cyberpunk asset and the HD render pipeline in Unity. My group was mixed from different semesters (two first-semester students, two third-semester students (including me), and one fifth-semester student). I liked getting in touch with the other semesters and solving problems in coding or 3D the whole night. The vibe was great, but also ambitious because 24h for a prototype VR game is not a lot…
